Agaricus kerriganii
(Kerrigan's Agaricus)
Habitat
Mixed Conifers and Aspen forest 8000k - 9000k ft in Colorado.
Description
A small Agaricus in section minores with a light brown fibrillose cap and a very thin annulus (ring). The cap has a darker center tapering to a lighter brown. Usually one or two. It is not super common in my experience. It is very similar to Agaricus friesianus of which it is closely related. A. friesianus however is generally taller, more fragrant, cap with a reddish blush and found with at lower elevations under Ponderosa Pine and Gamble Oak.
